My passion for yoga started with my very first class in October 2007. As my practice deepened and my passion grew, I became stronger physically and mentally. After a year of soul-searching and encouragement from my first yoga teacher, I decided to pursue my 200-hour yoga teacher training through KC Fitness Link and completed in July 2013.
Yoga is for everyone. My love for teaching started at the ad agency I worked at for nine years and still teach a weekly class. I help my former coworkers experience less stress and more flexibility, strength, breath awareness and focus. I feel the most present when I am in class, guiding, teaching. Each individual has their own practice, own breath and hopefully, I am able to help them open up mind, body and spirit. Teaching fills me up and is something I carry with me throughout the day. It means seeing everyone for who they are, no judgment.
The tattoo on my left wrist says “I am enough.” and reminds me daily no matter how I’m feeling or what I’m doing that I will always be enough. Everything that has happened has helped me be the person I am today. Yoga is an expression of my life and it led me to many amazing people and opportunities. My practice shows me all I am capable of and provides strength, grace and confidence that extends off the mat.
I love bringing my passion and philosophy to Core Energy and the Power flow practice. Core Energy is all about community! I’ve found a place where I can be myself and share my voice. It doesn’t matter what we’ve done, where we’ve been, the past is the past and what matters is the present, coming together in this space to share our breath, energy and shine. I feel the connection each time I step foot in the space.
