Julie owns and teaches at Metro Power Yoga. She has been teaching for more than seven years and practicing yoga for since the early 2000's. She has a passion for seeing people live to their greatest potential on and off the mat.
Bergfeld found yoga after years of marathon and ultra-marathon racing at a highly competitive level (she was once the USATF 50K Trail Champion and has run a sub-3 hour marathon). Yoga was the only thing that "worked" to resolve and prevent repetitive strain injuries. She still trains hard and races when she can, but yoga is now a big part of her current life.
She is a Certified Baptiste Vinyasa Yoga Teacher and teaches based on the principles of Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga. Change occurs in our lives through seeking and living at our edge every day. Hard work is good for us all in the long run of life, but you should have fun and enjoy every minute of it. This style of yoga promotes the balance of the hard and the easy. Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, is conducted in a hot (85-90 degree) room and is designed to free you body and transform your mind.
Julie has attended levels one, two and three of the Baptiste weeklong immersion programs and has assisted several programs. She relies on her yoga and meditation practice to keep her body fit and flexible. Athletes seeking an edge should check out the benefits of yoga. It works!
