While attending university, I saw an advertising for one free week of training in a gym. A yoga class was advertised and I attended that same night. Little did I know that it was going to change my life. I was hooked after my first class. I could not believe how energized, yet calm I was feeling. It took a few years after to start having a regular practice, but I found myself attending several yoga classes in different styles, and reading everything I could on yoga. I did my first teacher training in Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) in 2003. Since then, I have participated in several conferences and workshops in the Iyengar, Ashtanga, Moksha, and Jivamukti styles. Although I really enjoyed these different styles, I still found myself searching for more. I often found myself in front of Baron’s book at the bookstore. Something was intriguing me to him but it took me many years before deciding to get his book. After reading the first chapter, I signed up for Level one with Baron. I attended Level 1 in Australia in 2009. I attended Level 2 in Austin Texas in August 2010 and the Art of Assisting later in April 2011. I became a Certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga teacher in May 2011 and attended Baron’s first Level 3 in Tulum Mexico in December 2011, and recently finished Duncan Peak’s Australia Power Living Yoga Level 3, August 2012. Baron’s philosophy changed the direction of my life. Everything is about showing up on your mat and being ready to open up to new possibilities. Allowing the process to unfold. I love to teach a class that is invigorating and fun. I aspire to continue building a strong and empowered community wherever I live in the world. I have spent 18.5 years as a Logistics Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. I have a Bachellors in Economics and Commerce, and a Masters degree in Human Resources and Management. On my own time, I like to spend time with my husband and two wonderful children who light up every minute of my day. In the remaining spare moments I have, you can find me on my mat. See you on the mat.
